Hoops For Hunger

Dear Friends,

Impact Lives & The Minnesota Lynx have formed a partnership to promote "Hoops for Hunger." This is a community initiative, calling on the efforts of people from around Minnesota and the US to unite together to pack as many as 300,000 meals and make an impact on world Hunger.

Here is one way that you can help: Most of you have accumulated a vast network of friends through the various "Social Networks." We need to sell 2,000 cases of food for the "Hoops for Hunger" initiative. If you would like to help out, consider buying a case of food or sending this to all of your contacts & ask your friends to buy a box of food. People can go to http://www.hoopsforhunger.org to purchase boxes (or partial boxes) of food and to make their donations. They could also go to www.impactlives.org. Or they can mail their donations to ImpactLives P.O. Box 2548 Maple Grove, MN 55311. They will provide free tickets to the Lynx game with each case of food sold. If you decline the tickets for the Lynx game, your donation will be tax-deductible.

Another way to help us out is by identifying business, churches, individuals and organizations that might be willing to support this event by purchasing multiple cases of food. Time has become critical for the success of this event and we need all your help. Please remember that currently:
* 1 billion people are suffering from hunger both here in the US and around the world.
* 25,000 people die each day from hunger related causes as nearly 1 in 4 people live on less than $1 each day.
* Food and Poverty is forcing families to sell their children
* For just $54 (case) we can feed a family of 6 for an entire month; or an individual for 7.2 months.
* Go to http://www.hoopsforhunger.org to make your donations & to sign up to help pack the food on August 28th and September 5th at the Target Center before the Lynx games!

There is nothing more powerful and contagious than the voices of those who care. We would like this event to be an annual event in many cities around the US and the only way that this could happen is with your support.
