OK, Now that I just trashed the Lynx for letting Angela Taylor go, they go and pick up Emily Fox with their 4th and final pick of the 2009 WNBA draft. Emily Fox, if given the chance, will help put some new season ticket holders into empty seats. Now to be somewhat unfair to the Lynx I have 1 final question of the day.
Tell us who locked Roger in the closet for this pick? I want to send that person a Thank You card!
My final note of the day - It should be noted that I do truly enjoy having the WNBA bring teams to town for true basketball fans to see play, and yes, I do believe that Minnesota has the highest basketball IQ as fans in the country (or at least in the top 5, Men's or Women's). I also, (even if it is not clear here today) think that the Lynx are needed in the area and Minnesota would be truly hurt to have a third Pro Women's team leave the area (the Fillies in the late 70's/early 80's left due to league folding as did the Minnesota Stars in the late 80's). This would be the first women's team to leave while the league is still in operation.
It is no secret that I think Roger Griffith - Executive Vice President of the Lynx has found too many ways to both inter fer and screw up a good thing, in my opinion. I also understand that I have very little clue as to what all his duties are, but when the WNBA recognized that the Lynx needed help and sent Angela Taylor to them to give that help AND not give her some power to help with getting the right players on the roster? There was a gift wrapped GM in your front door with international knowledge and skill, and you let her take a job with the Washington club.
I hope that while she was here the powers that be learned a little something from her!
