I have been waiting to see who the Lynx would add to their roster now that it has been reported Seimone Augustus is out for the season due to injury. Well, it turns out that I am waiting for nothing.
That's right, nothing. Seems that in order to replace Seimone on the roster they would first have to release her. Yeah, I had to read the one sentence response from the media office (see below) to my question 2 or 3 times to realize that this is for real. No IR list.
Now I do grasp the fact that the WNBA is in financial difficulty but what kind of "policy" (for lack of a better term to print) is that when your trying to give fans hope that any team can make the playoffs? In turn, putting fans in the arenas.
Now Seimone is/was not the only reason the Lynx would improve upon a sub .500 record but she was a large part of the picture.
Now what? I guess as in high school and college the fans, players, and coaches have to suck it up and do the best they can with what they have. If your going to expect folks to become fans of a professional team/league, why not allow such a roster "move" without penalizing the fans, the team, and player that could help in such situations for that matter.

COPY OF MY QUESTION AND THE RESPONCE --
Tony - What roster options do the Lynx have with Seimone's spot?
Lynx Media - Have to play with 10 players the rest of the season, unless we release Seimone.
