Tayler Hill's big day
Here it is. Tayler Hill's big day, big announcement, and wouldn't you know - something just was not right about it (see the video and watch for the sign in the background). If you can see past the signage mistake from her friends, the whole thing is fun to watch.
All the "other" conference's have elite players in all the different sports. But for the Minneapolis Conference to have such an elite player as Tayler Hill in women's basketball, well lets just say it has been way to long since Tracy Henderson of Henry, if you want to go back to find a player that has drawn as much attention as Tayler Hill. And before that, well, sorry Faith Patterson - I don't recall M-U in the conference but they might have been. An average of 20 years between superstars. Don't get me wrong - there have been star players but not of the level of those 3.
All 3 players have set such great examples (and continue to do so) on and off the court in terms of work ethic in both the classroom and personal practice time. But more impressive is that these ladies found time to be who they are, kids. Hold strong, ethical personal values - excepting the "roll model" label with pride, and representing with no regrets among all the sporting communities pressure put upon them by their abilities.
I hope folks will also notice the conference as a whole has huge talent year in and year out. In fact, this year, there was some thought that the conference would have state titles in 3 classes. Came real close too.
Tayler - GOOD LUCK - HAVE FUN
