Here Is My Pre-WNBA 2009 Draft Comments

I know that there is a lot more to this then I am assuming here so please keep that in mind while reading this. I also know that I am going a bit on the Pat R. side of things if for no other reason then to have some fun with my views.

WHAT IN THE HELL DO THEY PUT IN THE WATER AT THE TARGET CENTER ANYWAY?

With very few exceptions on both the Men's & Women's side of things there have been way too few draft picks panning out. Candice Wiggins and Seimone Augustus seem to be the only 2 picks in Lynx history to have met expectations or better. Now to be fair Nicky Anosike and Charde Houston mostly on the positive side of this ledger as well but come on, 4 names in how many years? The last 3. And this program/team has been around for how long?

To add to this I personally thought that Lindsey Harding was OK for the Lynx as well but no, can't have too many crowd favorites on the roster with 3 very high picks coming in the draft today. adding Kelly Miller to the roster I think was a great move that will help the Lynx in both addition and subtraction. Solid proven help at the point guard spot and dumping 2 experiments in the center position in Hayden and Ohlde, although Hayden is more likely to make an impact for the Sparks for a season or 2. Come to think of it that's about all I would expect from Kelly Miller as well.

Did the Lynx do well in the off-season? Well, in true Minnesota Basketball fashion, they did give more then they received, thus far.
