Timberwolves Partner with National Basketball Academy to Expand Wolves Youth Hoops Program

Minneapolis/St. Paul - The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced the team has partnered with the National Basketball Academy to enhance Timberwolves basketball camps and clinics around the state of Minnesota. The Wolves and National Basketball Academy will run a specially developed youth basketball program including camps, clinics, tournaments, leagues and youth basketball training beginning this summer.

"We're pleased to have this opportunity to pair with the Timberwolves to bring a quality program to the area," said President of National Basketball Academy Shane Kline-Ruminski. "Our experience with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Orlando Magic has helped us refine our programming to the point where we can provide unparalleled training and programs while keeping it fun for the kids."

"Our partnership with the National Basketball Academy is a great opportunity for the Timberwolves to continually improve our basketball camps and clinics," said Timberwolves Vice President of Client Development and Community Youth Basketball Jeff Munneke. "Each year thousands of boys and girls in Timberwolves clinics learn basketball fundamentals in a fun, safe environment from great coaches and players, and we're pleased to be able to continue providing meaningful basketball opportunities for kids."

The Timberwolves and the National Basketball Academy will work with local schools and recreation programs to bring camps into communities throughout the Twin Cities metro area and greater Minnesota. The company has also contracted with the Minnesota Lynx for special programs for girls.

The Minnesota Timberwolves and National Basketball Academy youth hoops program will begin June 2009 with an array of one-day specialty clinics, three-day clinics, and five-day camps. One-day specialty clinics cost $65, three-day clinics are $150 and five-day camps are $225. Every participant will receive great instruction from top coaches and players, a Timberwolves T-shirt or jersey and a Timberwolves basketball. Five-day campers receive four Wolves and Lynx tickets each, three-day clinic participants receive two tickets each and one-day clinic participants receive one ticket each for future Timberwolves and Lynx games.
